Habitat and Care
One long haired Guinea pig should be housed in a minimum habitat of 30x30x18. Multiple Guinea pigs require larger habitats. As a beginner pet, long hair Guinea pigs are fairly easy to care for but do require daily brushing to keep their coat healthy. Clean water, food and Timothy hay should be offered daily and additionally guinea pig specific chews are needed to help keep their teeth from over growing. A soft non dusty bedding should be used and spot cleaned daily. Weekly, the habitat should be deep cleaned. To keep your long hair Guinea pig thriving, they will benefit from daily play outside of their habitat.
