House in a tall, multi-level wire cage with solid resting shelves and a nest box. Keep the room between 60-70°F - chinchillas overheat easily above 75°F. Provide a dust bath 2 to 3 times weekly (never water baths), plenty of wooden chew items, and supervised exercise time.
