I bought the large size for my medium size dog, and we sat in the living room together while she rolled on it, carried it everywhere, and then began chewing on it. I watched her, but I didn’t think she could do any damage to it because it’s a Kong. I was wrong. Within a hour or two, she had started chewing it into pieces. I immediately jumped up and collected all the pieces on the floor, but I found out later that she had swallowed a piece. We found out she’d swallowed a piece of this toy when she began whimpering and vomiting all over my sofa and living room. You could tell she was in pain because of her breathing and restlessness. I took her to the doctor before they even opened and had X-rays done, and the X-rays showed the piece of the toy in her intestines. Thankfully, the piece of toy passed on its own, but not before my dog was in severe pain and I’d spent $444 at the vet. It was a miserable few days, and I’m still trying to get the vomit stains out of my carpet - that’ll cost another $150 for a professional cleaner.
My advice is to pass on this toy!
