Flimsy and came without all the parts
I was surprised with how flimsy this item is. My cat is nowhere near over 20 pounds but I got a 10-20 lb carrier because he's old and big. I'm worried he's going to fall through the bottom! In addition, the carrier came with no bolts. I'm so disappointed.

Nice looking, easy to put together HOWEVER be forewarned that actual interior space that will be occupied for the dog is significantly smaller then the dimensions.
The inside measurements are approx.: 35" x 24" x 28.5". It will do for our dog but I was not pleased that the length was short 5.1" :(

Do NOT purchase this product!
This is by far the worst crate I've ever owned!! The size is fine, but the assembly is absolutely terrible! Videos I've watched claim that you can just "snap and go" but I assure you its the complete opposite. I have been sitting here trying to snap in the sides for over an hour but have found out its near impossible. Only a half of the sides line up and none of the holes even come close to lining up. Not to mention, the screws are way too long, and the top of them isn't even large enough therefore they just fall right through the holes. I don't think I've ever been this disappointed in a product in my life. This completely strays me away from wanting to buy anything from Petmate again. Please do not ignore this review, unless you want to waste your money.

Great bed and travel carrier
This crate was perfect for our 2-5 month old Duck Toller retriever. She slept in it at night and travelled with ease in our vehicle from the time she was 2 months old until 5 months. She out grew it and left it in perfect condition. We had no problem reselling it and upgrading to the same crate, only a bigger size.

LIGHT ENOUGH FOR ME TO UNPACK AND SET UP DAILY
I used the compass on a cross country auto trip with a rambunctious puppy. I am 72 yo and not strong, yet i was able to bring the pieces into the motel room every night, put it together and then put it back in the trunk unassembled every morning. It is tricky to get it together just right, but the top stays attached even if you don't have it exactly the way you should. Each part (top and bottom) is no heavier than a laundry basket.

Assembly is horrible
The size is nice, but when you are putting them together the screws don't line up most of the time. I like to break them down to store and I went through so much trouble putting them together and breaking them down that I refuse to keep this product. There going back to the store asap.

stated size is off by 4 inches
Bought the size of the Compass kennel that was supposed to be for dogs 90 pounds and advertisement and label stated 40.1 inches long. The kennel was supposed to be used with my dog when he got to adult size which would be roughly 55 pounds, 25 inches at the shoulder. It is way too small, measuring at only about 36 inches of space for him to lie down. Misrepresented BIG TIME. Cannot recommend the product.Cannot use it for him but he is traveling in a 500 varikennel right now on a daily basis. Dual AC on high and putting a fan against the crate , looking for another crate for more air circulation and protection.

The double door feature makes it super flexibible.
Bought the 24" that has a handle on top. After using other kennels where you have to insert the door that will open only one way, I absolutely love the way you can open it from right or left without taking the kennel apart...which means you can also easily remove the door without taking the kennel apart. The flexibility was great for the different locations of the kennel when traveling. Loved it so much that when our puppy grew out of the 24" we bought a larger one. Unfortunately anything longer that 24" does not have a handle but makes sense as a handle would not support the weight of the kennel with the dog in it. So far our 4 month old 26# puppy has never escaped from the kennel.
