Rated 5 out of 5 by from When confirmation is important Having had numerous short haired purpose built hounds I have learned a lot about food. Having tried everything from generic to small batch designer kibble and home made raw meal to Alpo the truth eventually comes out. My dogs: coonhounds, Ridgebacks and an occasional pointer have the best combination of muscle confirmation, energy, overall health and brain power in Iams kibble. This statement extends back 36 years to when I started using it. And that product had a fault, 4% or so too much fat. This product repairs that and remains free if criticism. Well, I do complain that the one folks at Iams no longer make charcoal biscuits.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from IAMS & CATS 15+ YRS Our family has used Iams dog and cat foods for over 15yrs. Many yrs ago one of our vets recommended Iams saying it was high in protein as well as containing other better, healthier ingredients and had fewer fillers. He also commented that because of better ingredients, the dog and cat's fecal waste was in smaller amounts and the waste didn't smell as foul. We noticed these two bonuses immediately! Our pet's fur ALSO became VERY soft and shiny. The two cats I've had over the last 15 years have been SO soft to the touch like silk. I would positively recommend Iams dog and cat foods. I've only used the dry foods so I cannot vouch for the wet foods. You will not be disappointed in Iams pet foods.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My dog wolfed her IAMS large breed dog food down [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am always a bit wary of trying out a new dog food on my Labrador retriever as I never know if she will turn her nose up at it. Upon receiving the IAMS large breed dog food from IAMS I could tell that it would be a good nutritional balanced food for my dog. I put the recommended amount for the package in her bowl and waited to see if she would sniff and walk away or sniff and eat. She sniffed and then ate most of it in one go which is good for her. I am confident she is getting the proper nutrition for her size and will report back when she has had chance to see how it suits her stomach.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Iams Proactive Health Large Breed Dog food [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This as the first time we have tried Iams Proactive Health in the Large chunk version..we have always used the mini chunks. I have a 60 pound boxer pit bull mix and we have always used Iams since we adopted him. Our dog loves the food and has maintained a beautiful shiny coat as well as super clean teeth. A plus also using this food is that is doesn't bother his stomach and we don't have a mess in the backyard (if you know what I mean). I highly recommend Iams...I have used it with my current dog and the others I have had in the past...great dog food and I recommend the treats as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Our dog is an Iams dog [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have always used Iams dog food for our yellow lab, Harley. Harley is 2 years old now and is eating large breed adult dog food. For the first two years she was eating Iams large breed puppy food. She has regular vet visits, and has never had any problems with either her weight or her health. Our vet is fine with Harley's diet, and actually preferred Iams to us over some other brands when we first brought Harley into our family. It makes us happy to know that we are giving our 4 legged family member food that is good for her, with a price that is good for us. Harley will stay an Iams dog for sure!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Food our dog loves [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We consider our dog Chloe another member of our family so it's important that we feed her as such. I love that Iams ProActive Health dog foods main ingredient is chicken. So does Chloe! Since Chloe is an older dog (11 years old) and a large breed dog, it's important that we feed her food that will help her stay strong. So it's good to know that each serving is filled with essential nutrients and prebiotics. Chloe has been through two ACL repairs so it's also important that Iams supports healthy joints. Chloe is always waiting, not so patiently, for us to put her food down so she clearly enjoys it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Iams a large breed hit [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Iams large breed adult dog food is especially formulated for my Great Dane. Large breed dogs require a different diet than the smaller dogs. Iams fits the bill. Boomer is a finicky eater. I was pleased to see him dive right in. The smell and taste was appealing to him. He ate his full portion and "asked" for more. This alone is enough to convince me to continue serving Iams to my big dog. However, after sampling the entire bag for a week, I know I will keep buying Iams large breed adult dog food for Boomer. His coat was shinier. And, he maintained a healthy weight and healthy lifestyle. Iams is a keeper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best!! My German Shepherd turned up his nose at Diamond Large Breed, Nutro, Fromm, and ProPlan across a span of two years. He LOVES this food! I'm so happy to get the extra nutrients specific to large breeds and relieved not to have to add or top the food with some kind of enticement. I have had to throw away so much dog food, because I didn't find it true at all that "if he's hungry enough, he will eat it". Maybe not every dog will like this, but my very picky and spoiled dog loves it!!
