Merrick Backcountry - Raw Infused - Game Bird Recipe Dog Food is an ancestral canine diet packed with protein dogs crave. This natural, grain free formula provides your dog with the nutritional benefits of a raw diet they would have discovered in the wild in a safe and convenient recipe that's easy to serve.

Keeps Moe Fit and Trim!
Moe, our French Bulldog has been eating Merrick his entire life and has always maintained an outstanding body weight and muscle tone, as well as a shiny glossy coat. He was picky but eats his Backcountry with gusto; especially as I add in a bit more of the Freeze Dried Raw pieces (which are also great treats)

My 6 y.o. la usually eats anything & everything...
I wanted to love it but my dogs hate it. I liked the idea of freeze dried meat for him but he would actually pick the chunks and set them outside of his bowl. I thought it was just him but my 4 y.o. boxer doesn't like it either. I bought it from Pet Supermarket and don't have the bag; just food in storage container and receipt. I hope the store can issue me store credit since it was $60ish for the 22 lb of dog food. :(

GREAT FOOD!
Our 7 year old Sheltie, Lilly has been on Merrick since the day she came home with us. She has always done great with it and if she starts getting bored with a flavor, it's nice knowing we can just change without it upsetting her. Our Vet always says how good she looks and how healthy she is. We are and always will be a Merrick family. Only the BEST for our girl.

I have 3 dogs & they absolutely love this food. One of the dogs has allergies and she has no problems with this food.

Best ingredients
My dogs all love this recipe! The protein content cannot compare to any other food! The freeze dried pieces add flavor and nutrients to the food that most food don't have!

Good but quality has been slipping
I have been feeding my dogs this recipe for years and they love it! Would be five stars but my only complaint is over the last five months, I have purchased two 22 pound bags of the Backcountry game bird recipe that contain absolutely zero freeze dried raw pieces. Zero, not even any freeze dried crumbs. One bag I purchased from Petco, the other bag from chewy. Is this is the beginning of a disappointing trend of decreasing quality and consistency? I really don't want to change their food but if this keeps up...
