Rated 1 out of 5 by from Used to love this....new formula is terrible I have used Arm & Hammer cat litter almost religiously for close to 3 years and used to love it. It took care of the worst ammonia odors and clumped wonderfully. Now I am desperate to get rid of my last two boxes because the new formula is terrible! My room constantly smells like the litter box and when I try to scoop it out the litter just crumbles apart leaving me with a litter box of crumbled, urine soaked litter that reeks of ammonia. The only way I can get rid of the smell is to dump the litter box out completely and that is just a waste of money. I don't know what they changed but I will not be purchasing this product any longer!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible SMELL and full of disappointment! I just bought this product and I am VERY DISAPPOINTED in it. Yes, it works for clumping, but it SMELLS SO BAD. My entire, three level home SMELLS like this litter. I do not smell cat urine, but the litter!!! Why is this? Maybe the company should put a warning label on the box. I think that the company owes me money for a 20lbs. box. Now i have to go back to the store and buy another brand. that's right!!! a DIFFERENT brand. Thanks for losing my trust Arm and Hammer, for more work than what it is worth!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from works great, no problem with product odor at all. I changed to this product after using the walnut litter, which I found did not clump well, and did not control urine odor well. This Arm and Hammer product works very well. I have not had any of the product odor problems that other reviewers have noted. I find it controls cat urine and waste odor very well. I scoop daily. This litter clumps well, but I have found that it is worth it to get a good scoop that does not break up clumps, because if you work the litter too much, it will break up smaller lumps. Cat guy Jackson says one should not use scented litter because cats need to identify their scent in the litter box. This product works well for me and the cat.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Have six cats---don't care for this product As a caregiver for six cats I found this product less than adequate, it was bought because my regular brand was not available. Four boxes were bought and five litter boxes were filled with this products. The clumping action was fairly good but often the clumps with urine would fall apart as I was scooping it out. All my litter boxes are cleaned out at least once a day. As a Respiratory Therapist and Certified Asthma Educator I have concerns about the strong perfume smell, it is very potent. I will not buy this product again, I will hold out for my usual cat litter if I have to.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Product/Vastly Improved Packaging! I have been using the Double Duty cat litter for our four cats for years. The product has always performed just as the package promises. My only gripe has been the packaging! Hauling the 40 pound box has always been difficult with the one tiny little handle. Defeating the glue used to keep the box sealed also was a battle. I definitely approve of the new box I bought. It has two handles built in. Opening the box was much easier. Discovering that there are two smaller boxes inside was a treat. A lot of cardboard is used to do this but handling a 21 pound box is much easier than the jumbo 40 pound box. Thanks for the improvement.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Changed the formula?? WHY??!! For 16 years, I was loyal to the Arm & Hammer brand of cat litter. Not anymore! Not only does this Double Duty litter not clump, it turns into a nasty SLUDGE that requires painstaking labor to "scoop" up. I finally gave up and took the mess outside to wash out with a hose. Further, this litter tracks everywhere! I have a 2nd, unopened, box that I will donate. (Not nice of me, so no thanks are necessary!) I honestly have no idea how other cat litters measure up, so would appreciate references since I will NEVER purchase THIS MESS again!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Will never buy again. I bought this cat litter because I already use several other Arm & Hammer products. The litter clumped just fine. No problem. However, the smell is atrocious! One of my cats started refusing to use the box, the smell started creeping up the stairway. I even had to change out the filter and bag on the vacuum! I really hope my cat forgives me and starts using her box again. And yes, I did take her to the vet to rule out physical issues. Clean bill of health. I'm so glad I finally figured out the cause of the smell and eradicated it from the house. Yuck!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My cat is picky My cat is picky especially when it comes to litter. I learned very fast that he enjoys the finer things in life.Winston loves clumping but the different textures and smells from certain brands..well he wasn't impressed to say the least. I was nervous this may not meet his expectations but I couldn't have been more wrong. The scent is wonderful, it's not dusty and is more fine (which he loves) and it clumps so well that your not wasting litter because it just sits in it. This litter soaks up every drop and keeps it clumped tight so it's super easy to clean. It can be a little pricy but I feel it balances out because you use less.
