Not for puppies
I have a 10 week old 8 lb. puppy and they said she would eat slower if I got a Slo-Bowl medium at pet supermarket. I put her 1/4 cup in and she could not reach the food with her tongue and was bending her nose to get into the bowl. After 10 minutes of her crying and trying to eat I poured the food on the floor for her. The label on the bowl makes no recommendation at to size or age of the dog.

Food Maze bowl
I bought this last year and since then I have bought two more to give to friends with dogs. This bowl stops the dog from eating too fast. It's not difficult for the dog to maneuver around but if prevents them from "inhaling their food". It works well for dogs that are very food motivated.
