Product Description

Product Description

The Red Dragon Roundtail Guppy is a deep red guppy strain with a rounded tail fin. Males show the brightest color and longest fins, and guppies are one of the easiest, most rewarding fish for new aquarists.

  • Adult size: About 1.5 inches (males)
  • Temperament: Peaceful community fish; avoid fin-nipping tankmates
  • Aquarium: 10 gallons or larger
  • Water: 72 to 82°F, pH 7.0 to 8.0
  • Diet: Omnivore: small flakes plus frozen or live baby brine shrimp
  • Care level: Beginner. Guppies are livebearers, so mixing males and females produces fry

Feeding Instructions

Feed a species-appropriate diet: insectivores need gut-loaded crickets, roaches, and worms dusted with calcium/D3; omnivores and herbivores need daily fresh greens and vegetables alongside appropriate protein. Feeding frequency varies from daily (juveniles) to several times weekly (adults).

Habitat and Care

House in a secure enclosure sized to the species' adult length with a proper temperature gradient - a basking zone of 90-105°F (species dependent) and a cool zone in the mid-70s°F - regulated by thermostat. Provide UVB lighting on a 10-12 hour cycle, replaced every 6 to 12 months, plus hides, climbing structure, and appropriate substrate. Fresh water should always be available.
