Product Description

Clown loaches make great scavengers for community and semi-aggressive aquariums. With lifespans of over 20 years, these animals can become a long term animal companion. Although they can reach lengths of over 24 inches, Clown Loaches are slow growing and can thrive as juveniles in moderate sized habitats. Their striking tiger stripe pattern makes them an attractive choice for the home aquarium. Clown loaches will do best in groups and often lay on one another when resting.

  • Life expectancy is 10 years.
  • Max size is 11 inches

  • Minimum tank requirements: Juveniles may be housed in groups in a minimum 29 gallon tank
  • Owner experience level = Intermediate to advanced
  • Introduction to tank: Best kept in groups and introduced to established aquariums 
  • Décor: Provide with areas to hide and benefit from having live plants.
  • Water conditions: Introduce to established aquariums only
  • Cleaning: 25% of the aquarium water should be vacuumed and replaced each week
  • Additional information: Use conditioner for tap water
