Five fun activities for you and your best friend to do this fall.

It’s Fall Y’all

It’s officially ‘Pumpkin Spice’ season for humans, and for your dog, it means there’s more fun things to do outside now that the weather is cooling down! Not sure how to take advantage of the weather? Here are a few ways you can have some fun with your furry companion:

Go for a hike!

Dogs love to hit the hiking trails, smell the different smells, and explore new environments. When planning a trip to the trails, make sure to look for dog-friendly areas, don’t forget to pack some snacks (check out our Treat of the Month!), some travel bowls to keep your dog hydrated, and make sure the weather is good for your pooch.

Head to the pumpkin patch.

There’s nothing like a dog-friendly pumpkin patch to visit with your best friend. Your pooch will love helping to sniff out the perfect pumpkin. Some pumpkin patches even have an off-leash dog park where furry friends can gather to expend some energy. For pet parents: make sure the pumpkin patch is pet-friendly ahead of time, and make sure your pet has gone potty first. Don’t forget to pack poop bags… just in case. If you have a skiddish dog though, don’t force it. There’s plenty of other fun things you can do! Like…

Play backyard football.

For so many, fall means one thing: football. But you don’t have to leave your best friend on the sidelines to enjoy some ball. Sure, it’s fun to tailgate. It’s also fun to hang out on a Saturday afternoon in the comfort of your own space and toss around a ball for some good ol’ fashion ‘fetch.’ (Plus – you have immediate access to all the snacks you want.)

Host a dog photo shoot.

Not every dog cares about sports. For those who like to ham in up, you and your hound can work on their Instagram-game. Fall is a great time to capture your best friend’s portrait. You could have a family portrait taken for your holiday cards, to hang on your living room wall, or to share on social media (feel free to show off your #PetSupermarketPicks for a chance to be featured on our Instagram page. Stop by your local Pet Supermarket for a dog wash to get them photo ready!
