Society finches can be kept in colonies and make delightful observation animals. Zebra finches make mild peeps and chirps with displaying interesting social behaviors between each other. Zebra finches do best when not handled and make great visual pets.

Give finch fresh food and water daily. Offer millet 2-3 times each week.

Habitat and Care
Can be kept singly, in pairs or in colonies, when given enough space. Society finches enjoy flying in their cage and will do best in a minimum of a 20x24 inch cage. They are a low maintenance to beginner experience level bird. Daily spot cleaning of the cage, water and food dishes is required. Weekly deep cleaning is recommended. Rotation of enrichment toys/materials specific to canaries is recommended. Finches enjoy taking baths and it is recommended to offer a fresh bowl of water large enough to bath in daily.
