Dwarf Puffers are one of the more unique aquarium pets and are one of the few true freshwater varieties often available in the hobby. They make excellent aquatic pets and have a lot of personality. Their inquisitive behavior and active nature makes them one of the more popular oddball fish to keep. Dwarf puffer fish stay under two inches and are generally non aggressive towards each other in the right size environment. Although they are small in stature, they have a beak like mouth that can easily damage other fish. It is recommended that they are kept in a species only tank in groups.
